Socks and Chicken Cuddles

My treatments have been coming along nicely.  The corn on my right foot is getting bigger.  Apparently this is a good thing, its pushing itself out.  Devin really has mastered the administering of my tiny pills.

I finished up my first round of pills - 1 pill daily for 6days
Tomorrow I move into my 1 pill weekly for 6wks, 1 pill weekly for 4wks.

Each day Devin says I'm changing; for the better.  I'm still not keen on someone pushing their face in mine, but who really likes that from "strangers", or anyone who isn't their primary care giver???   Devin has gotten a voice and warns people not to do that as they move in for the "pet".  For some reason, people have this desire to throw their faces down into my face or any dogs face really.  Personally, i feel like its a complete invasion of my personal space.  I don't do it to others, I'd think they would take that cue.

The past few nights while Devin has been at work, I made myself more than comfy on the big bed.  Devin and Nana have perfected the sleep attack photo ops.

Enjoying breakfast with my treatment socks on.  Devin did a reverse treatment while working nights. Socks on during the day for sleepy time, managed to squeeze in my other 2 treatments.   My dish set was brought on to the carpet so I wouldn't sleep on the floor.  Darn socks!

Devin received a parcel in the mail from Auntie Shelley.  Auntie Shelley, Uncle Mat, and Cousin Parker sent up a birthday gift for Devin and a special surprise for me too!

Present from Cousin Parker!

This morning we went for a walk and ended up at Nana's for a visit.  Nana was trying to make her bed, and I decided to help myself up on there and lay down.  Nana brought out "Slipper" for me to play with.  I love that thing!!!
slipper no more :(
On our way back home we booked it pretty fast.  The sky didn't look very nice.

Feeling pretty exhausted from my morning visit at Nana's, I decided to take a nap with Chicken.
Bunny hugs and Chicken guards
A little while later I readjusted and managed to get chicken cuddles.
*video* opening my gift from Cousin  Parker xo   Thank you!!!!

Tomorrow is Devin's birthday.  THEN.... On October 2nd it will be my birthday!!!  I'm going to be a whole 6yrs old!  When I first came home to Devin I was 4.5yrs old.  Time sure does fly.

Changes (for the better) and monkey visits

Devin is becoming a pro at giving me those micro mini pills.  Thanks Karen for the helpful tips/hints!
Devin thought we were a pill down this morning. It turns out it actually landed inside the side of my mouth.
So tiny, Devin almost missed it!   It was then pushed under my tongue for fear it might drop/roll/fall outta my mouth.

This morning when I woke up, I was wearing both socks.  Midway into the night/early morning hours, Devin woke up to the sound of me nibbling.  The tape wasn't very comfy nor were the socks.  Devin switched out the tape and gave me a different pair of socks to sleep with. I'm more of a knee high type, the ankle socks just don't do it for me.  I ended up roaching, Devin knew then that the right socks were on.

On our walk this morning we popped by Nana's to show her my new sweater.  I rocked the monkey sweater!   The constitutional drops Devin has been giving me are working wonders on me.  Lori (homeopathic) in an email confirmed that it was the constitution that's working for me.    While I was at Nana's I explored quite a bit, AND I even gave Nana a lick - On the same finger I bit.   I've been more playful, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my naps still, but Devin can get me worked up a bit to "play".  I have even started this little teeth chatter thing when I get excited.  *hehe*

Nana will be coming over this evening to check on me.  Devin goes back on a short swing of nights.

That's really it for me.  It's almost time for my midday treatment.  I'm roaching (yes hard to type and do that at the same time) right now in my nest, maybe Devin will wait until I move to the other room for "nap time".

Cousin Parker and Misc. Day happenings

I wanted to say a special hello and feel better soon to my cousin Parker.  He lives in Florida with Devin's sister Shelley and my Uncle Mat.

1 day before Parker's 9th "Gotcha Day", he had to go in to have a lump removed.  I'm happy to report that the lump was not cancerous. Today Auntie Shelley came home early from work to find that his rear leg was "super sized" and oozing.  He was brought to the vet, and placed on antibiotics. The fluid has been draining down into his leg from the surgery site. If it doesn't go down in the next little bit, he will have to go back and have his leg wrapped up.   Feel better soon Cousin Parker!
First day home after having his surgery to remove the lump
Today - his rear leg super sized
It's hard to see, but here is Parker's "Kankle".
Parker Loves to cuddle under blankets.  Here he was having a hard time hiding himself under blankies with the Cone of Shame.

This morning I didn't attempt any of my Jedi Mind Tricks to get Devin to wake up.  We stayed our beds until 7am.  When Devin got up I was found with one sock on and one sock off.   I guess that means I'll need to be taped up a little "gooder" tonight.
Trottin' - who you lookin' at?

It was a grey gloomy, rainy day here.  We didn't end up doing much. A lot of laying around and puttering about the house.  Nana came over earlier on today. It was POURING!  Devin got me dressed up in my Thera Paws, raincoat and took me outside for my "out".  Nana was leaving at the same time. I followed her right out to her car. When Nana got into the car, I stood there at the open door under her umbrella, just staring. I tried a few times to put my feet on the car floor to get inside.  Devin told me I couldn't go with Nana. :(    We instead went for a quick wet walk.

Once back home, I had a lazy afternoon of playing with Chicken.  Too "tired" to move, I laid there and chewed at Chicken.

tuckered out

Devin snapped a few photos of my corns today:

A few times I wandered off into the bedroom to rest on my bed.

Mini pills, Monkey Sweater and Park time

This morning marked Day 1 of my new foot treatment.  We got up early this morning. I felt like I was being cheated out of breakfast.  Devin put my mini pill on the lid of the vial for me to lick.  I didn't go for it.
Devin then tried putting it in a custard bowl. I sniffed around but didn't spot the pill, I turned my nose up at the "empty" bowl.  It felt like Devin was teasing me or something.   Finally Devin tried putting it in my food bowl.  It was assumed that I licked it up, as it was missing from the inside of the bowl.  About 10mins later Devin tracked down the pill. It was under my food stand; in plain sight.   Devin at this point said, lets do this, and opened the side of my mouth and put it between my tongue and teeth.

There was a bit of an oops too with the pills.  Devin lost 4 of them under the microwave, then accidentally dropped  the balance on the top of the stove.   Here's hoping the pills will still work for me, with the cross contamination and stuff.     Devin fired an email off to camp greyhound, "Karen" and was given advice on how to admin my meds.  We shall see what tomorrow brings.  Karen is always a big help!

Once I got the pill thing sorted out, Devin felt terrible for me. I was kinda moping in my nest.  I got up with the assumption that breakfast was coming. I was so excited.  When it became apparent that breakfast was not in the cards for me at that time (not allowed food on either side of taking the pill - for 30 mins), I crawled off into my nest and felt sorry for myself.
Why can't I have my breakfast??
Devin got me up and we went for a walk to kill some time.  By the time we arrived back home it was time for me to have my breakfast.  I gobbled it up like it was going out of style.

Just before I reached my semi sleep food coma, Devin let me check out the bottle before applying one of the treatments.  It smelled pretty good to me, I tried to put the bottle in my mouth a few times.  Devin told me it was for "smelling", not for "eating".

Hmm..what's this stuff??

left foot

A while after my foot treatment Devin had to run into town to take care of a few things.  While out Devin picked me up a nice wool sweater.  It's a monkey!  It's fitting, because Devin calls me a little monkey sometimes.

Almost too fast for the camera
How could I forget!   Devin and I went to the park today.  I ran after the ball a few times. That got old pretty fast. I turned my attention back to helping to maintain the grounds.  I grazed the grass for a bit, then Devin brought me over to the beach for a dunk.  I went on in and laid down without hesitation.  The water was still nice; by my standards anyway.   I met a 3 yr old black lab in the water.  He was jumping off the dock after a stick.  Silly guy.

Taking  a break. Sitting around checking things out.
Headin' home
"Sock" foot treatment. My foot treatment before bed has me wearing socks to bed.  Devin taped them lightly so they'd hopefully stay on during the night.

Here we go again....
Will my toes ever feel better?
*NOTE*
Devin seems to think that I've been sighing more today and making louder sighs.  Not sure if it has anything to do with my treatment.  Something to keep an eye on.

The past few days I've been limping more on my right side.  Evil corns.... CORNS BE GONE!
