Greyhound Scream Of Death (GSOD) Parental note
This morning Milo decided to wake me up at around 0330hrs. There was a panic in his cry, similar to this time last year when he had the evil "denta stix" incident. I bolted out of bed, and took him outside for a walk.
He mowed the front lawn and continued mowing the lawns of others in the neighborhood. Finally he did what he had to do. I'm not sure what all the fuss was about this morning. He did get a reaction out of me. Perhaps that's all he was testing.
This evening while I was making my lunch for work, Milo was up on the couch relaxing and snoozing. All of a sudden he let out the "Greyhound Scream Of Death" also known as "GSOD". My heart instantly stopped. I went running over to him to see what had happened. I checked every inch of him to see if something was out of place, bleeding, and or had been poked or picked on something/anything. All the while he just laid there with his head up looking at me, with a "No big deal Dev" look.
Now i'm not sure if you've ever experience the "GSOD", I think it's best explained below:
"if you've never heard the greyhound scream of death, consider yourself fortunate. It's a greyhound tactic that will stop just about anyone's heart in their chest. It's a high-pitched scream that rivals the most chilling sound from any horror movie. They let The Scream loose when they feel a trivial twinge of pain that might possibly produce more pain and need to let everyone within a twenty block radius know".

This is Milo's second GSOD since living here. I think I'm good for another year!

Sunday Photo Blog
Devin thinks that my thyroid pills are working their magic on me. I am playing more, I lay outside of my nest more. I meet and greet people with a happy tail wag that lasts past the initial contact.
I stayed out of the way this morning while Devin touched up the ceiling. My toy box was moved on me, it now sits next to my nest. While supervising Devin's painting job, I snuck out of my nest, grabbed a one of my stuffies, dropped it in the back of my nest and laid back down. Not sure what the point of that was, other that, at that moment, I wanted that particular one close to me.
I had a few kangaroo jumps this evening while out on my nightly stroll with Nana and Devin. Devin gets a charge outta that when I do silly things like that.
Nothing really new with me, just enjoying the new "moods" i'm in. It was a fun day of playing with Chicken.

Expect The Unexpected
Nana: Are you sure he isn't going to get to those pills?
Devin: Mum, he won't get the pills, he runs from them when I take them out. He won't take them down from there.
Devin came home from work yesterday morning to find that after 2 weeks of my pills being in the same spot, I finally decided to get to them. I could hear Devin's heart drop and skip a few beats as I was bypassed from my morning greeting. A straight dash was made to the pill bottle on the kitchen floor. I didn't manage to damage the bottle or take any extra pills for that matter. Lesson 1 in - treat me like the toddler. Expect the unexpected
These pills are really working wonders. I got up on the couch and snuggled in behind Devin. I was told me that the couch isn't big enough for the two of us. I like to stretch out my long legs, in saying that I ALMOST managed to kick Devin off the couch with my stretching.
Couch cuddles didn't last a long time. Devin moves about too much and throws off way too much heat for my liking. I moved myself to the end of the couch.
Nighttime corn treatment.
I managed to keep one sock on ALLLL night. Devin is always fussing with my socks and the tape that keeps them on.
This morning Devin woke me up early and served up my breakfast. This cream cheese treat I get with each meal is pretty yummy. Don't think that I haven't figured out that you're slipping my pill in there Devin. Right now the cream cheese goodness out ranks the pill.
We went on our morning walk. I think I look pretty dapper with the autumn colours. You almost can't tell me apart from the leaves!
We stopped in at Nana's. Nana told Devin the other day that I can come anytime and wake her up.
Me, specifically me...annnnnnd that's what I did.
I went into Nana's room and watched her while she slept..Kinda creepy I know, she didn't wake up right away. Nana sleeps sound like me! z z z z z
I did manage to get up on her bed.
Lesson 2 - Expect the unexpected.
I plopped myself down beside Nana. Rye-Lee was on one side of Nana, then made his way to her pillow. From the pillow he had a good view of me.
Nana got up and Rye-Lee and I got some yummy treats. I laid on the carpet in front of the couch, rolled around a bit, I even played with Nana. She gave me pets with her foot. and pushed me about *hehe* She knew I was okay with it as my tail was doing my silly tail wag.
We skipped through the field on our way home from Nana's. It feels good to feel good in your own skin.
Once home I found myself up on Devin's bed. Chillin' from my eventful morning.
Corn update -
Corn 1- the piece that was left behind from when the corn (we think sheered off) fell off is slowly making its way to the surface.
Corn 2 - Devin can lift a bit of that big bad guy out. It's holding strong on the front and one of the sides. However, Devin can get a nail kinda around some of it. It's definitely separating from the "good" skin.
I think Devin is going to be painting again today; touch ups. Me, i'm just going to hang out in my nest I think.

Morning Shred
Restless night, I was up at 419am. That seems to be Devin's new wake up time too. We did go back to bed until about 730am, got up and had breakfast. Devin broke out the thyroid pills, I slinked off into my crate.
Devin didn't see a point in fighting with me to take my pill. I scored a small piece of cheese slice again
I'm not sure how the cheese slice thing. It's only my second time having a piece though. Devin tears off a small enough piece to hide my pill inside. Devin was thinking perhaps cream cheese next time. It's more on the "real" side of "people food".
Anyway, this morning I hung out in my nest for quite a while. Finally Devin convinced me to get up and join the world. We went for a walk to Nana's. I had a few snacks while I was there, because what is a visit to Nana's if I don't empty Rye-Lee's water dish and get a few tasty snacks? Nana even gave me yesterday's newspaper to read. Nana said I'm an excellent speed reader! I tore right through the sports section.
So that's about it for me. Nana comes over tonight. Yay!

Ch Ch Changes!
Wow,
We've been real busy in these parts lately. Devin decided to change out the colour of the apartment.
We used to have a chocolate brown wall and a deep blue/greyish colour on the opposite wall that ran down the hallway. Devin changed those two colours out with a "Peddlewheeler Grey" colour. It sure has brightened the place up. I managed to stay out of the way for the most part. Come supper time last night I couldn't contain myself. I tore up the hallway, I managed to get a grey spot on my back. I like to think of it as highlights. :D
Today Devin finished painting. I almost managed to fly down the hallway when I heard Nana's key in the door. Devin put a stop to that pretty quick, as the paint was still drying. I waited for Nana in the living room.
*hmpft*
Since starting my thyroid meds, I've been pretty excited and happy to see Nana. OH!!! Guess what?
Speaking of thyroid meds, yesterday while Devin was in the store picking up the paint, i stayed in the truck with Melissa. Melissa reached back to give me scritches. I didn't flash any teeth at all at her. Normally, I'll throw her a look. I just kept looking out the window. Progress...Maybe someday Nana will try and pet me out of the blue like that too. Once bitten, twice shy, I get it. Truce Nana?
Corn News -
I believe it was October 14th, 2012 when Devin discovered I was missing a corn. Devin gave me my treatment before leaving for work. It was thought that I was being treated on the wrong toe, then Devin realized that my corn had fallen off! Devin did a search on the floor and found it in the hallway. Maybe it snagged on the carpet when I ran in from my morning out. It looks like the corn has sheered itself off. When Devin runs a fingernail along my pad, it feels like there's still corn like piece in the hole on my pad. Lori (Ireland) said she's never heard of that happening before, Devin is to keep oiling and treating me. Again, it's working from the inside out to heal. *paws crossed*
So those are really the only two major changes going on in these parts. Home renos and missing corns.
Ooh, one more thing. Last night I went for a ride to pick up two bags of frozen chicken feet!
I'm in heaven! Devin thawed a foot for me today. I had a lovely time chomping on it. I know I likely gave Devin visions of me chocking on the foot. I chewed it a littttttle bit before swallowing it. *burp*
