Pre Season "Swimming" - Greyt Day At The Dog Park/Beaches

Devin called up Nana and asked her if she'd come to the dog park with us.  Nana said yes!
Devin packed up a mini park/beach bag for me, complete with:
*pitcher half filled with ice cubes
*my favorite baseball stuffie
*towel "in case" in decided to go for a dip

Nana and Devin took turns tossing my stuffie for me to chase after.  I haven't lost my "racing touch", 3 strides and i was full speed ahead!

I met a new friend there, 10 month old chocolate lab. We chased a few balls together, but quickly branched off and did our own thing.

From all my running around I was toast!  My tongue was hanging out of my mouth, I could have almost tripped on it.  Er well, maybe not, but you get the point.
Nana and Devin brought me down to the beach area, where I did not hesitate for a second before walking right on into the water and plopping myself down in there.  Devin had to follow me out a little bit; Apparently it was cold - Devin said the water felt about as warm as Florida did last winter (50F).  I didn't mind one bit.

Good Ole' Devin was worried that the water was too cold for me, and thought I was having trouble getting out of it.  That wasn't the case at all, I was pulled up out of the water, only for me to look at Devin and Nana, turn my back to them both and plopped right down into the water. I wasn't ready to get out.
There's a language barrier between us, what I wanted to say was "i'll get out when i'm ready to get out, thank you very much".

After the beach we packed up and drove home; Devin decided to take the parkway back; we popped out at my beach that I went to "off leash" in the winter.  We all went for a little stroll down on the sand.  It feels so good to have the sand between my toes.  Why can't the roads here be like this instead of having all those tiny little holes and bumps???

I didn't go into the water this time, I just dipped a few toes and walked right back out.
I'm feeling pretty exhausted from my eventful day.  I wasted no time slipping into my "nest" when I got home.

Devin said there should be park and beach video up shortly - We will try and attach it at the end of all these photos.

Target Touch Training

Devin and I just finished a session of target touch training.  Devin and I worked on "Come Milo".  Devin went into various rooms and called me, I came running! Food is definitely my motivator.

I was quick to lay down, "roll over", sit, "wait".  I was a bit on the hyper side that I didn't always wait for Devin to leave my sight before trotting over.  Devin did turn me around a few times to lay down on my training bed.
A few times too I offered up different things.  Devin still rewarded me for staying engaged.

Devin's said it before, but it's almost time for us to go see Shannon and Shannoncourt for a training session; just to get me doing new things.  A greyhound mind is a terrible mind to waste.
It's good bonding for all involved.

After supper tonight I had a mini play session. I found an OLD NEW toy :)  The no fluff toy with a water bottle inside. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP

Again with "the look"
Frog has my back! :)
Safety in numbers....

I finally had a spurt of energy - It may not look like it, but I did. haha

Chomping on my Old New Toy

Off to bed now, Early morning tomorrow.

Nana comes to visit this weekend :)

Turned around and Pink Footballs

Oh I feel so disorganized.   Devin's night shifts have me all turned around.

I had a few issues Saturday night when Devin went to leave for work.  I had a mini melt down which required Nana to come to my rescue.  I had settled down by the time Nana came near the apartment. Well i settled for a moment then started up a cry.  Nana took me outside.  I had to go to the washroom.  Tummy cramps! Thank goodness for Nana!

Took Devin forever to get me out of my "nest". I was ready to finally go out though.

Saturday night - Giving Devin the eyes instead of going to lay on the "big" bed or in my nest.  Apparently this look is the one i give when i'm going to have some "issues"

Don't....Leave....Me....
Decided to pull my toys out before Devin went off to work

Defeated.  *le sigh*

Yoga - Greyhound sleep poses...

Where are we going, huh?? huh???
Devin and I brought me to fill up the water jug. On our way home we decided to stop in Petsmart to check out the new store.  I was given lots of attention by the staff and costumers.

Sweet score!  Pink football. Who says pink isn't for boys??  Devin put back the football on me a few times.
I was pretty insistent on taking it home with me.  Another one for my toy box.  Actually it's staying out in the car. Devin said we can take it to the park with us when we go.
Nom nom nom nom

Crazy face :)

out of breath. that was fun!

We stopped by Nana's on our way home from town.....

I made myself at home :)

Devin decided now that my tummy seems to be back on track, we'd take out the "training bed" and do some target training.    Note* DEVIN DECIDED.  I wasn't sold on the idea. It's been a while since we've done this.   Devin tried to encourage me out from my "nest".  Trails of "liver" were dropped about.

I did really well today.
*sat without being asked
*laid down without being asked
*rolled over without being asked
*stayed on my "training bed" while Devin went down the hall telling me to "wait".  Once out of sight, told me to come, and up i  went down the hall.
*roll over became confusing a few times... I worked it out though..

really, are you serious? I think you're up to something. I don't trust you. I'm not going OUTSIDE.

Contemplating....

Maybe..just...

nope... well maybe

Streeeetch nom nom nom

back into my nest...

Nope... I don't wanna

Okay...  Relaxing for a moment after my training session.

And back inside my nest.... Training exhausts me

Tomorrow I'll be on my own for a bit while Devin and Nana run the roads.  I suspect a few of my KONGS will be made up to keep me entertained while I'm left to watch the house on my own.
