It's snnnnnnowing!!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE the snow!

Devin bundled me up for our walk this morning.  Jacket and head muff, I was ready to go!
I kept my "zoomies" to a limit; Devin accommodated me in lieu of zoomies, we ran a bit through the snow

So much snow has fallen here overnight that Devin said that we looked like ROCKY running through the stuff.

I lead most of the way today, it was hard to see with all that flying snow coming at us.  When we came to a corner down the street, I wasn't sure how to get over it the mountain of snow. Devin showed me "Like this Milo".  I jumped right over and onward we went.  On the way back, i found Devin's footprints and walked in those, I'm no dummy! hehe

Last night Devin came out to say goodnight to me, toothpaste in mouth and mumbled voice, I didn't hear; completely zonked out.  When Devin went to pet me I startled; nothing bad, just jerked.
Toothpaste monster!

Devin came back and apologized to me; with an empty mouth this time, i was able to hear and understand what was being said to me.  Craazy humans!
pre-startle 1
pre-startle 2
In the middle of the night Devin came wandering for a glass of water. I was found hanging my head out of my "nest".  Sometimes I can make that "nest" of mine look realllllllly HUGE while other times I look like I could use another 3 feet.

Devin thinks I resemble Big Bird sometimes, What do you think????

Laundry day (again) - No fussing today.  Devin stripped my "Nest" bed casing and tossed that in the wash for me.  Devin said it was long overdue, personally I think it was just right.  Now i'm going have to get my "non-smell" on it allll over again. Hmpft*

Not sure what we're doing today, I don't imagine we will be going too far.  The roads aren't nice at all.
These are the days that Devin wishes we had a backyard to go romp around in.  I  couldn't agree more.

Snow Storms and Academy Awards....

Passed out last night.....

Today Devin tried to teach me:
Not every time I take a shower Milo does it mean I'm going out.

It took me about 2 hours to feel completely comfortable with the idea that Devin wasn't going to head out.
I laid around on my sheepie blanket; just outside my nest. I kept a sharp eye on Devin.

Finally I retreated into my nest.  I'd like to make note here that I DID NOT pant or pace when Devin got dressed.  Baby steps.

My new trick is to come out of my "nest" when i'm called to "come" with a treat waiting for me.  The past while I'd lay in my nest either waiting for several treats to come my way or snacks to be dropped into my bowl.  The humans would have to hide too - out of sight, out of mind.  They'd always get me though JUST as i'd be finishing up my snack.

No convinced that Devin is going to stay - hanging outside my "nest"

Frog makes nice pillow -

Thanks for turning off the flash Devin!

NOM NOM NOM KONG TIME!   see ya Devin!

Devin went out this afternoon to run the roads with Melissa.  I was content to stay home with my KONGS.
When Devin came home we went outside for a stroll.  CRAZY WEATHER!
This morning it was clear, no snow, kinda on the warmer side.  This afternoon it was snowing so hard.

DRAMATIC AWARD 2012 goes to...... MILO!!!!
(clap clap, whistle, yayayayay!!!)

I still don't mind the snow. I had a severe case of the ZOOMIES!  upon take off i look like a Kangaroo firing off my hide legs.  Devin had to try and reel me in a few times.  On one of my last Zoomies, I YELPED and began to favour my rear left leg.  Devin picked it up to see what was going on.  Nothing visible to the eye, Devin told me I was alright and to try and walk it off.  I hobbled (you walk it off Devin!) quickly pulling my leg up into my body.  Devin was impressed with my walking on 3 feet abilities. I have tons of unknown talent! hehe

Devin picked up my leg again to take another look, still nothing, a few little piece of snow, but nothing to write home about.  Devin told me I was alright, and we kept walking. After about 10 steps I was perfectly fine.  :)
It's been awhile since I tapped into my dramatic side.

Back home, supper was served.  I've been going between Devin's bed, my bed, and my "nest".
Feeling a bit like the princess and the pea today.

Exhausted - Fun Morning At The Park *video*

Devin and I were up at 7am this morning; we slept in!

I had breakfast and my pill then we went back to bed.  An hour or so later Devin got up and showered.
I tend to get a bit worked up (see below parental note) when Devin gets dressed for the outside world.
Once I settled down, Devin asked me if I was coming along.  Off we went into the truck!

PARK TIME!!!!!!

The truck was cold when we got inside. Devin covered me up with my jacket to keep me warm. I snuggled down in and tried to cover my face the best I could.   I nodded off, before I knew it we were slowing down to enter near the park. :)

First inside the park I found my FAVORITE PARK TOY!!! THE WHEEL WITH ROPES WAS BACK!!!!!!
I gave that a quick sniff then ran off to do what I had to do first.  Even with the fresh snow on the ground it was sure slippery!.

Devin gave the tire a  few kicks for me and I slid out of control, i wiped out a few times on either sides of my hips.  I looked disgusted when I stood up. No lips or cries, just hurt pride. Devin told me I was alright and off I went.  I trotted myself over to the pine tree. There isn't any ice and hardly any snow under the tree.
Devin said "Good thinking Milo!".  We played under the tree with my football for a bit.  Then I just kinda stood around.  It's not much fun when you can't run full speed after things.

Soon there was a BIG Doberman who came to the park. Zeus!  We sniffed each other n' for the most part ignored each other.  Soon after Zeus arrived Jake and his brother came!!
I met Jake back in the summer. He's part Greyhound - I'm not quite sure what part greyhound he is, HIS HUGE!  He's the size of a bernese mountain dog (colours of a yellow lab).  Maybe his eyes. He does give those pitiful greyhound eyes.  Hehe*

Anyway, Jake's mom shuffled around the park trying to get Jake's brother to chase her (he's doesn't like Jake to play with other dogs, he's kind of controlling like that, and he tries to do "naughty" things to other dogs")  I followed Jake's mom for a bit, then came back to Devin.

I was starting to tire and it was cold out there; regardless of having my coat on-- I went to sit down 2 times, Devin took that as my cue to head home.   Jumped up into the truck without any problems.  HOME DEVIN!  Snuggled up under my jacket; out like a light I was.   zZ z z z z alllll the waaayy hommme.

Now that we're home I've curled up inside my "nest".  I plan on staying here for the remainder of the day.

***Parental Note***
Milo seems to begin his stress/anxiety attacks after I get out of the shower and start to get dressed.
I decided to lay down a few times while getting dressed to confuse him some. It seemed to work; he would settle down I'd wait a minute, get up and get continue getting dressed.
Each time I laid down he calmed down. He was still breathing heavily, but NOT panting or pacing.

I read an article on stress/anxiety and it mentioned that at the first sign/trigger you should stop what you're doing (to throw them off pattern), repeat the steps that you did before the anxiety showed itself.  Eventually the dog will learn that it's no big deal.  This might mean getting dressed several times before actually making out the door. haha****

Months back he had troubles when I'd pick up a set of keys, he'd run like a mad fool to the door or wherever I was at.  Eventually he broke of this habit/behavior.  I am optimistic that he will break of this behavior too.   All in time.

Winter Blahs

I like it when there is fresh snow on the ground.  I get an evil case of the zoomies! hehe  Last night I tried to take Nana for a run a few times. Good thing she had me close by when I decided to try and launch myself forward.

Devin worked nights these past few days.  I've done really well on my own.  Each night I've been given a cup of food, then just before Devin heads out the door  I'm given the balance of my supper in my KONGS.

No crying, upset no nothing.  Shannon from Shannoncourt was right!

Since Devin relocated my first bed into my "nest", i haven't slept much in the bedroom. I'll go in there for a little bit, but for the most part i can be found out in my "nest".  The current bed beside the "big bed" isn't as comfy.  Devin tried to jack it up with blankets n' stuff, but it's just not the same. Meh*

Here's a rare glimpse of me sleeping on my bed in the bedroom.

Put your right foot in, take your right foot out... *la la* shake it all about......

Body pillow has been keeping me from getting under the bed. foiled!

Decided to join the land of the living  - well kinda

While Nana dropped by today we did some "target training".  I was tuckered out  after my session.
I'm really doing well with the "COME MILO" command.  Well only during the training sessions, but it will come. :)

After supper Devin managed to round me up and put me in my jacket.  Apparently it was time to go outside. *ugh*  I had already been out this morning at 6am.  Isn't that enough????
Protesting "out".  When Devin closes my "nest" door, I first try and hide in my usual spot (between my "nest" and couch) as of late I've tried to go between the kitchen table and my "nest". I try and slink around the table, but Devin always catches me and redirects me towards the door.

Also in SAD NEWS****
Nan is moving at the end of April :(  Her and her family are moving back to town.  I've gone from 2 greyt friends to having no greyt friends (soon).  First Lucy, now Nan.  Maybe come spring I can make some more at the park??  Just not the same....
