Corns and Finding my voice

Last night Devin came home early from work.  I was found up on the big bed, crashed out cold.

I stayed there for some time before retiring to the living room for the night with Devin.
I got up at 5am, Devin is terrible at this playing possum game.  With a few little yelp/yip/barks Devin asked me what I needed, I spun around in circles, Devin asked if I wanted breakfast.  I yipped back, hoping Devin would take that as a YES, DO YOU EVEN NEED TO ASK ME THIS???   After breakfast I crashed for an hour before needing to go outside.

Devin took me to see Gina today, she trimmed my nails up real good.  I didn't even pay attention to her Siamese cat who was at first hiding in a shelving area beside the stairs we had to go down, and then she was up on the counter. She meowed a few times, but I couldn't be bothered. I was more interested in wandering around, checking things out around me.  Gina has so many smells at her place. It's a good sniffing time!
Oh and Gina gives yummy treats too!  Thank you Gina  :)

We went back home and relaxed for the remainder of the day.  Nana came over earlier on and we went for  a walk together.  When we got back home, Nana served me up supper.  She told me to Sit and Wait while she put my food down for me. I listened :)

After supper Devin went into surgery with Dragon, Lambie and Baseball.  Surgery was a success, as each "friend" came out of surgery I managed to find their stitch lines and chewed around the area.

*Corn update*
When Devin went to give me my morning treatment, I was missing Corn 1.  There was a small dip in my pad where Corn 1 was, there's still a small corn like substance in there, but when Devin pinched my pad on either side, it felt pretty mushy.

Corn 2
More and more each day, Devin can lift that one up and away from my pad.  Patience is needed with that corn.  After all it hasn't been around as long as Corn 1.

Photos from the past few days and today:
I got mail!  More corn treatment from Lori in the UK
Devin thought this was a good idea
Oh how I humour you Devin...
I did some shredding the other day - After trying to steal a few papers on Devin, Devin grabbed from my secret stash of newspapers from hall closet and gave me a small section to play with

I think i'm done now...
big bed allll to myself last night. Or so i thought...
 Surgery today -

Waiting for Lambie to come out from surgery...
waiting can be so painful sometimes... Airplane ears
Lambie is that you???
Checking out the toy chest - i only ever grab things from there when Devin is getting ready to go out.
Back to Lambie..
Nibbling on Dragon when I hold Lambie down

Imma Walkin'

Today was filled with long walks.  Devin managed to get me outside for 3 long walks today.

First we stopped off a Nana's for a drink and a treat. I actually hopped up on the couch and laid beside Nana. I could have laid towards Devin, but I decided I wanted to rest a leg up against Nana.  Rye-Lee was not overly excited about me being up on the couch. He stared off in the other direction, perhaps he thought if he ignored me, I'd go away?   Nana even gave me lovin', I got me some pettings from her. No Nana's were harmed in this photo. *hehe*
Hangin' with Nana
Devin thought it would be amusing to put a toque on my head. Can you see by my eyes, that I am oh so excited to be wearing that silly thing?
Things I do to humour the human.

Later on in the afternoon Devin and I had some couch time together.  I like it when Devin puts down the fuzzy blanket for me to lay on.  I hope all my brothers and sisters are getting to experience this lifestyle.
Couch nappies
After I had my supper, Nana came over to hang out and go for a walk.  We all went on a nice walk together.
I had A LOT of sniffing to do this evening.

I stopped dead in my tracks and starred down this strange thing between two of the houses. Devin told me it was okay, that it was just a boat.  Nana and I agree, what a silly place for a boat to be!

Nothing else really exciting in these parts.  Tomorrow morning I'm going to try and let Devin enjoy a bit of the time change that happened in the wee hours of the morning.   All weekend I've been getting Devin up at an ungodly hours of 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am.   My bad.  What's a guy to do when he has an overwhelming urge to eat grass at 3am???

Flying things that go ~thump~, Park runs and Polar swims!

I woke Devin up at 4:30am this morning.  That was for waking me up yesterday morning at 4:30am to go outside. *hehe*

Devin and I were on our way to drop off my morning "deposit" when all of a sudden we heard not one, but two hard thumps followed by a squawk and feathers flapping about.

With the feathers flapping and that odd squawking, I was on high alert.  I saw what I think was a common pheasant / mourning dove fly into the side of the green car, fell to the ground, then flapped about by the rear tire before settling.  Devin told me that I needed to give the bird some time and space, that it may have hurt itself, AND that I had to leave it alone.  IE: Don't think it's a play toy.

We stood there watching it for a few moments, then walked off. On our way back we walked over to see if he/she was okay.  It took no time in gaining flight and went off into the dark morning sky.

Devin was curious about the other thump that was heard, so off we walked over across the lot to our truck.
There it was, another pheasant/dove!  It was sitting juuuuust on the top of Devin's front window, looking at us.  After a few moments it too took off into the darkness.

As much as those strange sounds had my interest, I didn't make a straight line for them.  I am enjoying the retired life. I like it when my squeaky toys come to me.

This afternoon Nana came with us to the dog park.  I ran like a madman!  Nana tossed Chicken and football for me to run after.  I had the bestest time ever!! After all my running, Devin brought me down to the beach. I took a quick dip in the water, sneaked a little sip of water, and then popped out. I was ready to head home.

Check out the photos below from today:  Oh, and no you're not seeing double. Devin found this neat function on the camera (cell phone) that allows for panoramic action shots.

*note*  We need to figure out what to do with this blog.
When Devin tried to upload photos we received a message that we couldn't upload as we exceeded our GIG Byte limit for the account.  Maybe it's time to turn this blog into a book and start new....
