Call Me Pogo - Most Excellent News EVER!

Where do I even start with the most wonderful news?  How about if i build up to it??

I'll back it up to yesterday.  Devin and I went for an afternoon snooze before "work" took My Devin away from me.  I was sprawled out on my bed beside the big bed, with a blanket pulled between my front legs.
I had my nose pushed up against my leg and the blanket.  You can just imagine the sounds I was making.
I slept greyt, Devin on the other hand had to listen to my puffs.
Cuddled with one of my blankets

Work time came and it was time for Devin to leave.  I gave the "are you really leaving me look".  What if I just lay in the hallway and pout a little bit. Will you stay with me?
Why are you leaving me...

Devin, I'm talking to you.  Why are you leaving me?
Fine, don't answer me.  *pout*
Back to my bed to sulk a little bit - Pre-KONG sulk
This morning when Devin came home from work I was stretched out on the big bed. I wasn't moving for anything. I didn't even lift my head when Devin came into the room.  I gave a squinty eyed look as a form of "oh you're home, it's about time...You're 10 mins late ya know".
Ignoring Devin...  No mention of the "B" (breakfast) word. I'm not moving for anyone
Are all these morning photos necessary?
After my walk and breakfast I found myself up on the couch while Devin emailed back and forth with Karen from Camp Greyhound.
Really, what was life like before pillows??
Ignore the nose drop mark on the couch, I have a drippy nose at times, k??  :)
Karen suggested that Devin soak my foot for 5-10 mins. If I had a corn then the outer part of my pad would water log while the corn part would remain the same.

Devin had a medium zip lock baggy and filled it up with warmish water. I was laying on the big bed when Devin approached me with it.  Devin tried to put my foot inside the bag a few times, each time i pulled my foot out of the bag. On the last attempt at getting my foot submerged I yanked it out, gave a look and bolted off the bed. I was outta there!  I made a straight line for my nest and laid in there.

Devin had to bribe me out of my nest with dried liver treats.  THEN IT HAPPENED.   Sucker that I am...
Devin steered me towards the bathroom. Once I made it into the bathroom Devin gave me another piece of liver treat. I went at that like a shark!  Into the tub I walked myself.  I had to stand in there for a whole 10 mins.  Devin managed to keep me standing in there just over 5mins.
How am I going to get out of here????
Ugh
I popped out of the tub and Devin steered me towards my bed in the bedroom.  Devin pawed at my foot to see what was going on.  The area around the lighter patch was definitely waterlogged in comparison to the lighter area. As the area dried the ...wait for it....wait for it.... CORN!!!!! appeared!!!!!

Now the last photo of my paw doesn't capture the corn in all its "beauty" but you can get an idea of what's going on.

Dry paw - flash takes away from the "corn".
I want to thank Karen at Camp Greyhound for answering all of Devin's questions, offering advice and other alternatives and so on.   Thank you Karen!!!

Devin contacted Dr. Janet's office and told them:
I haven't started Milo on the prednisone treatment. I know that Janet said that it wasn't a corn when she inspected his foot, but I didn't feel good about giving him the prednisone.
It was recommended to me that I try and soak Milo's foot in water and if the pad was waterlogged and the area in the center was not then it is a corn. I did that, and discovered that there is a round spot in the center of Milo's pad. Milo has a corn.

The receptionist was more than ok with what Devin had to say. She went on to say that there is a dog that goes into the clinic with chronic corns.   Devin is thinking because the corn wasn't exposed (except for a tiny tiny dot) at the time of my pre X-ray visit and because I didn't respond to her pushing on my pad that it wasn't a corn.

I proved them all wrong!  *hehe*    Devin went on to tell the receptionist that we'd be proceeding with alternative treatments.   Devin is going to try and deal with my corn, if need be we will seek out help.

My foot soak kinda took a lot out of me. I hit my bed and roached!
Lately I've been in the business of tearing my bedding apart while getting comfy.  Darn blankets just don't stay in place!

We went over to Nana's for a little visit.  I nose dripped all over the day bed and floor *hehe*
When it was time to go home I loaded myself up into the truck and had a narcoleptic moment and nearly fell asleep instantly.

Supper was served, I gobbled that up like it was going out of style then retreated to my nest.

Thoughts - From The Couch

I had Devin up around 5am this morning, my tummy got the best of me.   I went
back to bed for a bit after breakfast.

Sleeping like a lamb
You seriously want me to get up??
Okay, lets go!

Our morning walk led us to Nana's for a little visit.... We didn't stay too long, Rye-Lee had to do his morning thing.  Off we walked home, towards the end of the walk I got my limp on.  Devin picked me up so I wouldn't have to walk over the evil parking lot pavement and placed me down on the grass out front our building.   Once back at home, I stirred around a bit in my nest before making it to the couch.

After all of the excitement from yesterday I think I'll just lay low and nap my day away; I know, how is that different from any other day??  :P

The Couch Files:

Devin has been speaking with Karen at Campgreyhound and learning lots.
This morning Devin contacted OSU (Ohio State University) Greyhound Wellness Program via their web forum.  On that form they ask Brief history, signs/symptoms, medical problem, diagnostic tests done, treatments, progress.  As well as questions  or requests.
It can take up to 72hours for a response.  We are going to wait and see what they have to say in regards to what's been going on with me before starting the diagnostic treatment with the prednisone.  It never hurts to get a second opinion.

Back to napping.  Devin works nights tonight - Nana will come by and give me tasty treats!

Don't Feed Me Or Water Me After 6pm - :(

Feed Meeee... Water Meeee
Feeling a bit like Gizmo/Gremlin again.  Devin gave me my supper and several ice cubes, an hour later my water was taken away from me.  I seem to recall this happening not that long ago.

I think I'll just find a comfy spot on the couch and spend the evening there.

 Catch you all tomorrow!

Swinging At Nana's

Devin had to run out this afternoon to pick up some groceries and do other "grown up" things. I had to stay home; far too hot for me to be in a car!    I was pretty excited when Devin laid out my towel. I KNEW the KONGS were coming!  Quickly I forgot that Devin was leaving, didn't care, got food, I good :)

Nom nom nom KONGS!!!

When Devin came home from the "grown up" things - I laid myself down amongst the KONGS  *hint hint*

maybe you could fill these again???

Playing Catch Up

 May 26, 2012
Devin and I were a bit on the tired side yesterday (may 26, 2012), My apologies to my views

I'm getting good at surprising Nana. One minute i'm in the bedroom, the next moment i'm quietly waiting for Nana to turn around and drop some cranberries into my dish.

When Devin came home I was poking my nose near the door.  I'm getting good with this "Greeting" thing.

I had supper and decided I'd "play".  Playing for me consists of rooting through my bin of toys, pulling out what might interest me - usually a few toys, sit with it for a moment, then head off to my nest.

Hmm....... what shall I play with today?

My frog was the winner!
Devin actually got me to run after my chicken.  After chasing it down the hall I made a straight line for my nest, dropped it in the back and went for a nap.

I'm not enjoying the pills - for the record

Giving Devin the, do you really have to leave eyes. Actually truth be told, these are more like my, I'm waiting patiently for you to give me my KONGS.  Can you leave already for work eyes?

The Nana Files:

When Nana came into the apartment she found me laying on the bed. I sure do love resting up against the pillows. Not only do they feel comfy on my back, i think they smell a bit like Devin too.

Guess who I met when Nana and I went out for my "out"?
Sophie.
She's the black lab from down the hall. She lives where my old girlfriend Lucy used to live :(

We met up outside today and made nice with each other.  She came over and we sniffed each others noses for quite some time.  I think she was flirting with me, she gently raised her front paw and softly rubbed my face. We stayed nose to nose for quite a while until Sophie had to go for her walk with her daddy.

When Devin came home today I was a bit slow moving in coming to the door.  I had a hobble on with a bit of a bounce in my step.
Devin put on my both collars and leash, once in the hallway my leash was unattached and off I went. I zip zoomed up and down half the length of the hallway about 6 times before Devin had a chance to even make it to the end of the hallway.  Weeeeeeee

I leaped up the stairs, and off we went for our pre dinner "out".  I did well on the grass; but as soon as i hit the pavement/driveway I was hobble central.

Once back home Devin gave me my pill before supper.  I'd like to put it out there that Devin isn't always the greytest at giving pills. This time it didn't go back far enough, I ended up chomping on it in an attempt to remove it from my mouth. *yuuuuucky*   I was given a few pieces of dried liver treats to compensate for the poor pill administration.  Just as supper was about to be served Devin found part of the pill that I chomped in half on the floor.  Here we go again! is what I was thinking.  It wasn't terrible, i got to chase it back with a piece of dried beef liver (again).    Supper was served, i ate that up in a hurry then found myself on the couch for a bit.

I got up from the couch and did something Devin hasn't seen me do before.  I walked over to the fish tank, stretched and laid there looking in the direction of Nana's and Grampa Brian's engagement photo.

Hmm....
She looks familiar.....
*thinking* *looking*

I laid there for sometime until Devin decided to bother me.  I got up and wandered to the opposite side of the ottoman and laid down.   I humored Devin and played with a few of my toys before retiring to my nest.

I think i'll hang out in here, Devin tends to leave me alone for the most part when I'm inside my nest.  A guy needs his privacy / alone time every now an then.  I did live in quite the "apartment" complex during my racing career - never being alone, but I always had a space to call my own.

Off to laze around,
