Sunday run at the park

Since starting my new diet I have been content to get up a few times as morning approaches and wander right back to bed. These past few days Devin has been the one getting me up.  My how times have changed. *haha*

Last night Devin ALMOST forgot to give me my pill, I was very content and sleeping soundly, that Devin tried to wake me by calling my name and bringing a wedge of laughing cow cheese with my pill stuck inside. I was hesitant to eat it, but eventually did.
Last night: Comfy spot. I've taken to laying on Rabbit and Grandpa Brian's pillow, while kicking my feet up on the portion of my bed.
So hungry, I laid down beside my bowl. Is someone going to get me my breakfast???
We went out for our morning walk before I was given my breakfast.  I had a not so classy moment this morning. I was sniffing something on the ground, when I gave Devin the look JUST before attempting to drop down on it.  Devin caught me in time, I only managed to roll the neck of my jacket in someone else's poop.   When we got home Devin didn't take any chances and washed my face.   In went all my bedding and all my jackets for a wash.  That's one way to get clean laundry around here. :)

TMI: My poop was very loose this morning. Devin is thinking it is likely due to the cheese wedge I was given with my pill last night.  (also liquid at the park)

When we came back home it was time for breakfast. I got excited at the sight of the dining plastic being arranged on the floor.

I was given 14.9oz of a quarter chicken leg to eat.  The Chicken Olympics were back on again this morning.
I worked at breaking the drumstick free, tried to swallow that whole, then tossed it back up whole and went for it again.  I tried to run on to my bed, Devin steered me back to the plastic.  I managed to eat my breakfast half on and half off the plastic this morning. Oh well, better than nothing. I'll get the hang of it yet.

After a post morning snooze and foot treatment, we went off to the PARK!!!!
sniffing
Sniffing
Listening- getting ready to chase the ball!!
weeeee!!!!
More sniffs
and more sniffs
and and and more sniffs
Time to go, more sniffs
I had a blast at the park.  When we arrived there was a boxer, doberman and a beagle.  The beagle stuck by my side. The other two played around with each other.  The beagle and I did sniffings and ran after the ball.

After everyone left, I did more sniffings until the rain started up.
Devin and I ran for the truck.  I didn't want to get into the truck, Devin said "Milo, are you serious?" I looked at the beach area.  Off we walked down to the beach.
Can't go to the park without going to the beach!

Too cold for a dip today!
The water didn't look inviting at all!
snoozing on the way home...
That's it for now,

Worms the size of speed bumps! and Thyroid Test Results

When Devin got up to feed me this morning, we thought it was still dark out. It turns out it was just raining cats and dogs outside.  After breakfast I slipped into my food coma, i stayed there for nearly an hour; this past week, i've had to go out within 30mins of eating.  Slipping back into a few old habits.

On our walk this morning we couldn't get over how many big, fat, juicy worms were slinking across the pavement.  To a small insect they would look like a HUGE speed bump. I accidentally "drove"/stepped on half of one.

I took Devin on an S curve kinda walk in the rain.  I bet Devin was happy to have purchased rain boots yesterday!   I had major soakers in my Thera Paws, it's a good thing Devin has two sets for me.

Once back home, Dr. Janet called to say that my blood work came back. My T4 levels have dropped a considerable amount since last time they were checked. Free T4 was down too.

Devin packed me up in the truck and we went out to Alexandria to pick up my meds.  I'll have go back to see Dr. Vampire in about 3 weeks to have my levels tested again.

Once back, Devin called Bill to see if the treatment and dosage was okay.  Bill said yes, and when asked with my "jerk attitude" should start to change, bill said to give it at least 2 weeks before we start to see a change.

Feeling pretty good today. We went over to see the twins this evening. They were beyond excited to see me.
I had to bark at them a few times to put them in their place, eventually they did take the hint and went off to play by themselves.

Inside the house too, one of them got too close to me, then the other started to close in. I was up on the futon, and let out a bark at them. Devin jumped (was sitting beside me on the futon), I gave Devin big sorry eyes; I was told I was a good boy.  :)
Sometimes the kids just need to be put in their place.

We came home a little bit ago, I crashed out in my nest.  Devin came along and told me it was sock treatment time.  I just kinda looked and blinked, hoping my cuteness might get me out of this one tonight.

No such luck... I have this new thing where Devin comes with the treatment bottle, I'm not laying in the right position, Devin lets me sniff the bottle, then tells me to roll over.  Without sniffing the bottle lately i'm not too keen to comply, sniffing the bottle though, i roll on to my side where Devin can get to me feet, and even give a paw.  Well Devin things I'm giving a paw, but it's more of a not now..go away please...  :)

Here's a few photos from today:

I'm an excellent copilot
This evening at the twin's...  When we rolled up and Devin removed my stuff from the truck, i stood up, hung my head over the back of the seat and "barfed" (watery) into the back of the truck.  Devin stood there and shook the head with a slight laugh.  I have a habit of doing this when I go to see the twins.  The previous times, I barfed over and on Devin's shoulder while i was getting set up to get out of the truck.

Vampires and small dogs...

This morning Devin, Nana and myself went up to Alexandria to see Dr. Janet. Devin told her about my incident this summer with Nana, and what I've done to others when they have placed their hand over into the backseat to give me a pat.  Dr. Janet is leaning more towards me having behavior issues.

Devin asked her about running a 4 panel test, she said that she runs a mini panel consisting of 2 panels. Those two will give her an idea of where I'm at in terms of my thyroid levels.

VAMPIRES -
Dr. Vampire...err I mean Dr. Janet played Goldilocks with me, she tried on a few muzzles before settling on the prefect size.  A few visits ago I earned myself the badge of being muzzled when I get blood work done.
This one time she went to draw the blood, I let out one heck of a yelp and jerked away.  Since that day, I get "the muzzle".

So on to today's blood drawing session.   Once the muzzle was on,  Debbie the assistant held me from my hindquaters while Devin tucked my head securely.  Dr. Vampire drew the blood.  I did NOT make a peep or a move.  When it was all over, the humans had a good chuckle over the fact that all these precautions were taken, and I didn't do a thing.  Dr. Vampire gave me a pat on the head and told me I was a good boy.  :)
Now we wait until tomorrow (saturday) to get the results. Normally Dr. Janet calls is mid morning.

Small Dog-
This afternoon Devin and I went for a walk. On our walk out came a small dog dragging its leash behind it.  It was barking and barking at me, it sniffed me while Devin got a good hold of my leash.  Not sure if the small dog was going to nip me or if I might take a nip at it.  Lately I don't take kindly to other dogs charging at me barking in an aggressive manner. My first instinct is to pounce back at them.

Anyway, so Devin managed to get a hold of the little guys leash, looked for a collar tag, but there wasn't one.
We tried knocking on the door from where we thought it came out from.  There was a little boy who eventually came out from around the house. We let him know that his dog was loose and needed to go inside, and also that his front door wasn't closed tight.  I think he was afraid of us, he was just a little guy.  Nonetheless, he took his dog and brought him indoors. :)    Operation find small dog his home - COMPLETED.

Corns-
Devin worked more on getting one of my corns out. It's definitely coming.  I've just been laying around quietly with my eyes closed while Devin's applied my treatment and worked at the "nearly ready" corn.
Any day now...  Dr. Janet wanted us to keep her informed about the treatment and how it works for me.
She said there has been an influx of corn cases coming to her lately.  Maybe if this works on us, she can get the help or at least advise the others to seek the treatment we've been using. Either way, we gave her Lori Rose's business card; she said she'd hold on to it.

*note* i have a bit of a limp on today, but Devin things that has something to do with the blood drawing.

Visitors-
We had a friend come over tonight, I played shy for a bit, then came around. I even got up on the couch while she was on there.  I kept to my end. I seldom get up and lay on the couch while Devin is there.  I go in spurts with that.  Today though, for the first time in ages (or ever at all) I came to Devin when I was asked to come over to the couch.

Post Dinner Play-
After I had my supper, Devin continued working in the kitchen. I had a field day with Lambie, so much that I worked up quite the pant. Devin gave me an ice cube to cool down with.  NOM NOM NOM
Even though Lambie only makes silent cries, I still do enjoy playing with her.  She is my #1 friend at the moment.

So that's about all the excitement for today.  I'll post some photos below from today.

Superman Lifts Boulders. Me, I Try and Go Through Them!

We went to the park this morning. As soon as the engine cut I popped up in the backseat of the truck with my tag wagging a mile a minute. I knew were I was!

When I hopped outta the truck I had a wild beat to my step. I was all smiles and ready to explore and play.

First thing in the park I had to do some edging. *nom nom nom*  It felt good to stretch my legs without being on a leash. I was free to roam wherever I pleased.

Devin and I played toss for a bit until I decided to pull a "Superman". Superman lifts boulders, Me, I try and run straight through them.  Devin thought I had enough clearance after moving us over a few a few times before tossing the football.  My eye was on the target and not my surroundings.  I mowed right into side of the boulder not stopping once until I got that football. Devin hurt the connection, and came running to me.  I didn't have a care in the world.  Devin was more worried than I about my injuries.  I wanted to keep roaming around, but Devin had other plans for us.

We went across to the beach, I had a quick dip to cool down.  Back in the truck and home we went.  I was put in the tub to rinse down my feet.  Once out of the tub, I went back to my bed in the bedroom.  Devin cleaned up my cuts and scrapes for me.  THEN it happened, out came my treatment boots.

Devin decided it was a good time to start up my treatment again.  We went off the treatment for a few days as Devin was feeling discouraged.  We're back on it full force from here on out.  I'll post photos of my feet only once a week now - starting monday.

What an exciting morning I've had and it's only 3 hours now into my day!

Here are the photos from this mornings run at the park.
