Road trip

Yesterday I went with Devin and Melissa up to Mississauga.  Devin and an appointment and decided it would be best if i went along for the ride; given the fact that my tummy hasn't been completely in order these days, Devin felt better having me around someone in case I had to go "out".

We loaded ourselves in the car around 4am, I didn't waste anytime getting comfy.  Devin brought my pillow and blue bunny for me to rest on.
Okay, where we going today?  It's early!
blurry - can't a guy get some uninterrupted shuteye??

We stopped in Port Hope to fuel. Devin and Melissa took turns letting me stretch my legs. We wandered around the grass; when a women rolled down her window and wanted to know if I was a Lurcher.  Devin said nope, that I'm a greyhound.  The women said that she has a Lurcher at home, and was wondering. :)
Nice sweet lady, she was full of compliments too.  Some days it's rough being ridiculously good looking. *haha*

We arrived in Mississauga a few hours too early for the appointment. Devin thought that maybe I'd like to go shopping.  We went to a Pet Smart, I wandered around the aisles, we were stopped by several people asking questions about me, and wanting to know if they could pet me.  I got lots of pets and was told what a great looking guy I am. *shucks*
Wandering the aisles - nothing really appealed to me today.  A few squeaky toys, but my interest in those were limited. I'm holding out for a chicken.  MAYBE Santa will bring me a chicken for Christmas???
Back in the car - z z z
We still had time to burn before the appointment.  Melissa "googled' and found a dog park.  GPS located and off we went!  When we got there, there were at least 15 other dogs.  All difference sizes and shapes.  One dog named "Jake" wouldn't leave me alone.  He tried to show me who was boss but I set him straight. He just followed and sniffed from a distance after that.
Jake stalking me
Jake being nice and just following me around
We stayed there for a little bit, I chased after a ball through the mud a few times, but that was short lived.
Devin and Melissa both laughed and said, that was quite the ride to get to a dog park (we drove 4.5hrs this morning).

TMI: I pooped once yesterday - It was much darker than the previous (squash coloured) day. It was also more formed.  Not by much, but a small improvement from the previous day.

Resting my head on the armrest

I'm a greyt traveler!  I cried a few times, but quickly settled. I went from napping on Blue Bunny, to my pillow.  All in all, I had a good day.   When we arrived home, Devin cooked up my dinner. I had 10oz of very lightly cooked extra lean beef.  I was still looking for more, but Devin only gave me that much.

Saturday 8 December 2012 -
Devin got up and steered me outside at around 7am.  I only went for pees.  Once back in the house, Devin cooked me up some breakfast.  This morning I was given 14oz of beef!!  Can you say, Heaven!??
I gobbled that up, had a drink of water, went back to my bowl to clean it out., then drank up a bit more water.  After breakfast I went to lay on my bed, but looked all weird, Devin asked me what the matter was, I walked over to another area and laid down beside Frog.
Post breakfast naps
I had a full belly and needed to burp. Devin thought I was going to be sick on my bed, that's why I went to the carpet area.

Devin took advantage of me laying where I was and gave me my corn treatment; AND brushed my teeth. I was more excited about the teeth brushing than I was about the corn treatment. My corns have been super sensitive lately.  :(

Another mini update

I finally asked Devin to go outside around 1500hrs, that seems to be my usual time these days.

We walked the big loop, I ended up having a poop (hey i rhymed! hehe), it was still loose so Devin emailed Karen to see what we should do next.  Devin opted for the lightly cooked beef as a meal option for me.
How i spent my mid-morning/afternoon
zz z z z z
Devin had to leave for a bit so I was given my KONGS with a few pieces of chicken and yogurt frozen in there.  I was beyond excited to see my KONG towel come out. I was bouncing all over the place.
Kongs!!!
Nana came by just before Devin arrived home, she cleaned up my KONGS for me and found that I ate 2 out of the 3 KONGS.

Devin had stopped by the grocery store on the way home and picked me up a few flats of extra lean beef. Karen suggested that Devin cook it up very lightly for me.

Supper!!! 10 oz of goodness
nom nom nom!
Nana was reading the flyers, she asked me if I wanted to read some too. I snatched the flyers and went to my bed. :)

Devin has to go up to Mississauga tomorrow for an appointment, Melissa is going to go up with Devin. That means we are having a sleepover tonight!
Devin also decided that it might be best if I went along with them on the road trip. Nana was going to stop in to check on me but Devin said it would be okay, that I'm a good traveler. Besides, Nana has to work tomorrow night, and with the change in my food, Devin would like me to be with someone while this transition happens.  Melissa is going to hangout with me while Devin is at the appointment.  We have greyt friends!

That's it for now!

Update on my sickies

Yesterday was uneventful for me.  My day went something like this:
700am - 1 cup of chicken broth with chicken pcs
715am -  outside for my morning walk, just pees, Met up with Nana and Rye-Lee along the way. He barked at me, I walked away from him.

Rye-Lee looking like he's about to take flight
Gettin' pats from Nana
900am - Devin took me along to get the oil change done in the truck.
Getting ready to head out for the oil change
1016am - about 2 cups of broth and chicken pcs
1046am - 1 cup of broth 1/4 cup of chicken pcs half cooked
131pm - 2 cups of broth and 1/2 cup chicken pcs (still no pooping)
507pm - 6 oz of chicken slightly cooked, 1 cup of broth
supper!
530pm - went outside for a pee, still no poops
646pm - Devin made up my KONGS for tomorrow (chicken pcs and yogurt) I got to lick out the bowl

Devin tried to get me to go outside but I just didn't want nor did I need to.  Nana took me out just before supper for a long pee.
Roaching, feeling better...
This morning at 330am, I woke Devin up with a set of cries. We raced outside together.  I had a super long pee and eat a bunch of grass, still no poops.  We walked our morning "work route" and came back home.

We went back to bed until 7am; Devin didn't see me beside the bed and smelled something funny.
I was out in the living room just relaxing on my bed.  False alarm.

Devin made me some breakfast - 2 cups of broth and about 12oz of chicken; semi cooked. I gobbled that up like there was no tomorrow.   Then off to bed I went.  Devin gave me my foot treatment and tossed on my socks while I snoozed.  My feet have been hurting me lots lately, mainly Corn 2.  Corn 1 looks to be kind of back, but not, hard to tell. there's a dot, but not sure if that's scarring or not.  Corn 1 is still being treated.

Nothing too exciting, but after the other day, it's okay that it's quiet around here.

Chicken coma's

Last night Nana came over just before Devin served up dinner.  She sat on the couch, watching from a distance while I chomped my food.  I took my time last night, I didn't try to gobble anything down whole.

After dinner, I went into my post chicken coma. I curled up on my bed and went to sleep.  Devin tried to get me to go outside many times last night, I couldn't be bothered.

Chicken induced sleep:
old friends new again...
my new thing - i like to rest my feet up against the wall.
Yeah, uhm.. i'll pass on going outside.
I woke up at around 530am this morning. I paced a few times, and couldn't settle.  I finally went out to the living room and started to "yak".  Devin came running and steered me to the kitchen floor.  I threw up the small end of the drumstick, a bit of bile and a blade of grass.  I felt much better doing that.

After all that excitement, Devin dressed me up and off we went for our morning walk.

TMI:
Poop this morning was MUCH better compared to yesterday.  It was loose, but formed.  Devin said No more laughing cow cheese wedges to get my pill down.  I'm back to the old fashion way.

Once back home, I had breakfast (14.9oz of quarter chicken leg) Devin had to redirect me on to my plastic only 2 times.
 1) when I first picked up the chicken from my bowl, i was looking for a nice place to eat.
2) I tried to swallow a piece that was a little too big for me to swallow (not the drumstick part this time). I walked around the ottoman Devin followed me, I managed to bring it up without a problem, Devin then got me back on my plastic. I laid there chewing the remainder of my breakfast.

Paparazzi showed up this morning while I ate my breakfast:

After breakfast, Devin brushed my teeth and gave me my corn treatment complete with the socks routine.
I think I'll just cuddle up on my bed with my friends and call it a morning.

Check back in a few days!

Nana comes over tonight, not sure if I'll feel like going out, but it's always nice to have that company.

Sunday run at the park

Since starting my new diet I have been content to get up a few times as morning approaches and wander right back to bed. These past few days Devin has been the one getting me up.  My how times have changed. *haha*

Last night Devin ALMOST forgot to give me my pill, I was very content and sleeping soundly, that Devin tried to wake me by calling my name and bringing a wedge of laughing cow cheese with my pill stuck inside. I was hesitant to eat it, but eventually did.
Last night: Comfy spot. I've taken to laying on Rabbit and Grandpa Brian's pillow, while kicking my feet up on the portion of my bed.
So hungry, I laid down beside my bowl. Is someone going to get me my breakfast???
We went out for our morning walk before I was given my breakfast.  I had a not so classy moment this morning. I was sniffing something on the ground, when I gave Devin the look JUST before attempting to drop down on it.  Devin caught me in time, I only managed to roll the neck of my jacket in someone else's poop.   When we got home Devin didn't take any chances and washed my face.   In went all my bedding and all my jackets for a wash.  That's one way to get clean laundry around here. :)

TMI: My poop was very loose this morning. Devin is thinking it is likely due to the cheese wedge I was given with my pill last night.  (also liquid at the park)

When we came back home it was time for breakfast. I got excited at the sight of the dining plastic being arranged on the floor.

I was given 14.9oz of a quarter chicken leg to eat.  The Chicken Olympics were back on again this morning.
I worked at breaking the drumstick free, tried to swallow that whole, then tossed it back up whole and went for it again.  I tried to run on to my bed, Devin steered me back to the plastic.  I managed to eat my breakfast half on and half off the plastic this morning. Oh well, better than nothing. I'll get the hang of it yet.

After a post morning snooze and foot treatment, we went off to the PARK!!!!
sniffing
Sniffing
Listening- getting ready to chase the ball!!
weeeee!!!!
More sniffs
and more sniffs
and and and more sniffs
Time to go, more sniffs
I had a blast at the park.  When we arrived there was a boxer, doberman and a beagle.  The beagle stuck by my side. The other two played around with each other.  The beagle and I did sniffings and ran after the ball.

After everyone left, I did more sniffings until the rain started up.
Devin and I ran for the truck.  I didn't want to get into the truck, Devin said "Milo, are you serious?" I looked at the beach area.  Off we walked down to the beach.
Can't go to the park without going to the beach!

Too cold for a dip today!
The water didn't look inviting at all!
snoozing on the way home...
That's it for now,

The greyt Chicken Olympics - back on...

Photos of me while my chicken was being bagged earlier today:

The Watcher
Alll mineeee muahahahahahaha hahahaha
My antisocial nap time -
Snoozin' before supper
Tonight, before dinner we went for a walk.  Devin had to con me into going out, but once I was out there I was fine.

TMI:
I had another tiny poop. This time it was a tiny bit softer than previous ones. Devin also felt a hollowed out bone in there too, along with what felt like the end of a drumstick.

Once back from our walk, Devin setup my dining area again.  I was super excited for supper. Devin asked me to sit, I started to lay down, then sat. Devin asked me to lay down, I laid down and my food was put down for me.  Too many commands for me! I just wanted to eat.

First up:
DRUMSTICK!  It was on like Donkey Kong!
I gobbled up that piece so fast I didn't even really give it a chomp. I started to choke, Devin came over to me and helped to massage my throat. I was still in the process of trying to clear it from my throat, in no time it popped up and landed on the floor. I sniffed it and left it on.....you guessed it, the carpet!  I went over to my bowl and picked up the other piece and started going to town on that, only this time I actually chewed it before attempting to swallow.  Devin picked up the drumstick and lightly tossed it in my bowl. I thought for maybe a second that Devin was coming to take my food away, i hightailed it off my dining area and made a break for the kitchen.  Devin called me back, i did eventually move back onto the plastic. Devin told me I was a good boy.  After chewing up the other half, i went back to the drumstick; only this time I took a bit of time chewing it.
where the drumstick landed
Drumstick - post choke
Going back for seconds...

No more excitement for tonight.
